BIO

I am a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University. My educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Elgin Community College, an American Montessori Certification for Infants and Toddlers, an Associate’s degree in Arts from the College of DuPage, and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from National Louis University.

With over 17 years of experience as a preschool teacher and child educator in Illinois and Colorado, I have worked extensively with children with disabilities and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Fluent in both English and Arabic, I connect deeply with a wide range of clients, particularly within immigrant and refugee communities. My social work career has included roles as a case manager in a domestic violence shelter, supporting first-time mothers and their infants through the Healthy Families program, providing advocacy and resources for the elderly, and assisting individuals with disabilities in group homes. My counseling experience began during an internship in a private practice, where I developed expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, client-centered therapy, and play therapy.

I am passionate about supporting women, children, refugees, immigrants, people of color, and anyone seeking assistance. My practice is rooted in anti-oppressive and social justice values, with a strong commitment to advocating for marginalized groups. I firmly support the rights and dignity of Palestinians and all individuals affected by oppression and systemic inequality. I aim to create a therapeutic space aligned with these values, where clients feel safe, seen, and supported in their healing journey.

As a therapist, my goal is to provide a culturally respectful and empowering environment. I strive to help clients build skills, navigate challenges, and find balance through trust, non judgment, and collaboration. In today’s complex world, therapy is a vital tool for managing life’s stressors, fostering resilience, and achieving personal growth.
