BIO
I am a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University. My educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Elgin Community College, an American Montessori Certification for Infants and Toddlers, an Associate’s degree in Arts from the College of DuPage, and a Bachelor’s degree in
Human Services from National Louis University.
With over 17 years of experience as a preschool teacher and child educator in Illinois and Colorado, I have worked extensively with children with disabilities and from diverse backgrounds. I am fluent in both English and Arabic, allowing me to connect with a broader range of clients. My social work journey began with roles such as a case manager in a domestic violence shelter, supporting first-time mothers and their babies in the Healthy Families program, assisting in elder care, and working with agencies for individuals with disabilities. My
counseling experience started through an internship in a private setting, focusing on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, client-centered therapy, and play therapy.
I am deeply passionate about serving women and children, refugees, immigrants, people of color, and anyone in need. In these challenging times, I believe therapy should be an essential part of daily life to help alleviate stress and anxiety. My goal as a therapist is to provide a culturally respectful space where clients feel safe and empowered, supporting them in building new skills
in a trusting, nonjudgmental environment.
